Windows Automatic Updates

As you probably know, the newer versions of Windows have a feature that alerts you when there are updates available for your computer. There is usually a little message that pops up in the bottom right hand corner of your screen that tells you to use the update as soon as possible.

Well, lately I’ve been getting some e-mails from people who have had some trouble with these automatic updates, so I just wanted to let the rest of you know about something that could happen to you in the future. It’s nothing really critical or bad, but it’s worth the knowledge.

Of course, the updates are very helpful in keeping your system running smoothly and safely, but unfortunately, sometimes the updates aren’t necessary for your computer. Every once in awhile, Microsoft finds some problems with the updates they send out. Unfortunately again, they can’t always inform you about them before you install the updates.

So, if you ever complete an update and then start to have trouble with your other programs (ones that were working perfectly fine before you did the update), you may want to uninstall the update and see if things go back to normal. Then contact Microsoft if you can to tell them about the problem, so they will be aware of it as well. You could also try doing a search for the updates you put on your system (on Google or anywhere) to see if Microsoft came out with a news release of the problems occurring with the update.

Now, don’t get in your mind that this happens all the time, because it is very rare, but it’s good to know about in case it ever does become an issue for you.
