iPhone 6s Camera’s Cool Features

Smartphones are steadily replacing point-and-shoot cameras as the only camera for more and more people.  Apple started that revolution with their iPhone camera, though many have thought they have recently lagged behind Android and Windows Phones with their camera options lately.

But it’s hard not to be impressed with the camera features offered in their latest iPhone 6s and 6s Plus phones.

The 12 MP camera is certainly enough for most home users.  Apple is very proud on their new sensors and image signal processor, which they promise will improve tone and image stabilization for their images.

The front-facing camera has been upgraded to 5 MP, making for ultra-clear FaceTime video calls and sharp-looking selfies. The camera now features face detection, a timer mode, Retina flash and even exposure control.

The 4K video camera will deliver videos with an amazing 3840 x 1260 resolution. Image stabilization has also been added to videos as well as photographs.

The iMovie app will let you edit those 4K videos on your device. You can add effects and a soundtrack for professional looking results.

The app will even allow you to edit two streams of video at once to create split screens or picture in picture effects.

It even features movie trailer templates to let you turn your images into exciting coming attractions.

One of the coolest new features is Live Photos. It allows you to capture the seconds before and after you take the shots. Later you can press on the photo and it will come to life. You’ll also be able to use these images as wallpaper and view them on other iDevices.

Pricing on the iPhone 6 starts at $649.
