Spring has sprung! That means it’s time to start planning those summer gardens!
I don’t have enough room where I live to start a full-fledged garden, but I’m seriously contemplating a container garden on the deck or at the very least some potted plants to add a pop of color.
Thinking about started my search for gardening sites to share with all of you which brings us to today’s site Plan-a-Garden.
This free interactive tool will help you plan everything from the container garden I’m thinking about to your entire yard!
Using the interactive tool does require you to log in. Just type in your e-mail address and then create a password. After that check or uncheck the boxes for the content you want to receive (or in my case don’t want to receive) and then click the join button. You’ll automatically load into the interactive planner after clicking the join button and get started right away.
The first thing I did when I arrived was to click the Change the Scenery button to see what sort of options there were. I was very happy to find that you can upload an image of your space. I chose to do that. I snapped a picture of our empty deck and then uploaded to be my workspace. If you don’t want to mess around with that there a plenty of illustrated options you can pick from.
On the left side of the screen, you have Plants, Structures, and Texture to pick from. Click on the item you’d like to put into the image and then drag and drop it where you want it to be located. You can resize the item by clicking on it and using the + and – buttons to make it larger or smaller. You can remove and item by clicking on it and clicking the trash can icon.
After you’ve perfected your plan, you can click the Save button to keep a copy of it. Then you can start a new garden if you’d like to try a different look. You can find all your saved gardens under My Gardens.
Go plan your garden today!

Thanks for the information.
I have a backyard (flower patch) vegetable garden. My only problem is the many critters we have running around. Am starting with tomatoes, squash, pepper and some basil to ward off the bugs.
Hope next year to get a Tower Garden if my budget improves. It grows lots of stuff in a small area. Would be good for your patio. You can see it at http://www.lyn-buerger.juiceplus.com.
Great company. They are giving on to every boy scout and girl scout group in the USA. If you have a local group of kids you can help to get them one. Teaches kids where their food actually comes from.
