Look Out Cortana: Siri Is Coming To Mac

Apple’s digital assistant Siri is now making the move from iPhones to laptops and desktops. The company announced that Siri will be a part of macOS Sierra, the latest version of the operating system for Macs.

Siri will function a lot like Cortana does in Windows 10. You can ask “her” to send messages to friends or to search for documents, photos and other files, and open apps. She can also answer your questions, play music and do things like tell you what the weather is like.

Siri will also allow you to save searches to the Mac Notification Center.  Users can also drag and drop Siri’s search results to their desktops.

Apple’s macOS Sierra will be available this fall.

  1. Don’t you have the headline backwards? Siri is the Apple program and Corrtana is the Microsoft product. So shouldn’t the line be: “Look out Siri Cortana is coming to Mac?”. Now you have my attention! 😀

    1. No, Cortana is not coming to the Mac. But Siri finally is. Up to now Siri has only been available for phones. Now Macs will also be able to offer a digital assistant and Cortana is no longer you only option if you want a digital assistant on your laptop or desktop.
