This is my favorite end of the semester writing tool! Written Kitten is a writing application that provides you with an image of a cute kitten for every 100 words you type! Talk about motivation!

When you arrive you’ll find an empty text box just waiting for your words, and beneath it a drop-down menu that allows you to select if you want to see kittens, puppies, or bunnies. You can also change the amount of words that it takes to receive an image. The range options are 100, 200, 500, and 1,000.

Note: The first 100 words don’t count. Instead, you might get a message telling you that your browser supports local storage.

Are kittens, puppies, and bunnies not your thing? That’s okay, you can customize the URL and get the images you want. To do this all you have to do is change the text after the = with the term of your choice. For example, I want to see pictures of corgis, so I changed my URL to¬†http://writtenkitten.net/?search=corgis.

This is a fun way to get positive reinforcement when it’s tough to write.

Go try it for yourself today!
