If you find yourself needing to read the fine print or examine something small, here’s a quick and easy tip. Just use the camera on your smartphone and zoom in.
Take a minute or two to learn how zoom works on your particular camera. You might control it with the volume buttons or by pinching and zooming on the screen. Many cameras offer up to an 8x or 10x zoom.
I usually don’t recommend using the zoom when taking photos. It’s a digital rather than an optical zoom and can make photos a bit shaky. I suggest just taking the photo and cropping it later. You’ll get the same effect, but there’s less of a chance of a blurry photo due to shakiness.
But for a quick zoom, it’s perfect. Sometimes in a dark restaurant, I’ve been known to take a flash photo of the menu and then just zoom in to get a better look at the tiny print.
