Old Maps Online

You know I love maps, so when I found this site that allows you to browse historical maps from libraries around the world, I knew I had to share it with all of you.

When you arrive at the site, you have two main options presented to you. The first is Find A Place which will allow you to look for a map for a specific location. For example, Constantinople. For me, it brought up the Constantinople in France.  It loads the location on the map, and then on the right side of the page offers you maps to look at that match up, or are near to your search.

The second option is Browse the Old Maps which takes you maps you can browse for your location. For me, that was Williamsport. And you can zoom in and out of the map to load more results.

At the top of the page be sure to play with the timeline option to select what year the maps you browse are from.

This was a fun way to browse really great maps! Go see it for yourself today.
