Barbara has some questions about customizing WordPad
QUESTIONS FOR CYNTHIA WINDOWS 10 SETTINGS, WORDPAD, ETC.
1. How do I change settings in WordPad? i.e. change line spacing, font & size permanently?
2. How to delete document names that continue to show in Documents folder when they
have been deleted within the folder?
WordPad is the free Word Processor that’s included with Windows. It’s a good basic program that will work in place of a more complicated office suite for many many users.
Since it is such a simple program, it doesn’t offer options to permanently change the default template the way Microsoft Office and other fully-functional office suites do. But there is a workaround. Create a new document.
Make adjustments to spacing, font etc…
Then choose Save-As.
Choose a name like Template. Then click on Save.
When you open WordPad, choose the Template document.
Then immediately, click on Save as and rename the document to whatever you want to call it. Don’t skip this step or you’ll save right over the document you’re using for a template.
As for files remaining after they’re deleted. Notice the name you see at the top of that document list: Recent documents. That doesn’t mean the documents are still present on your PC, only that those are the documents you had open most recently. As you open other documents, the unused ones will drop down the list and eventually disappear.
