The stores in my neck of the woods are rapidly filling up with school supplies this time of the year. In the USA, the school year generally starts in August or September. But in some countries, January or February is the start of the school year.

Today’s fun site shows you when school years start all around the world. Plus you’ll learn about the length of the school day. In Brazil, it’s from 7 a.m. to noon but in China, it runs from 7:30 to 5 p.m.

This site also goes into detail about class-size, subjects studied, lunch breaks, uniforms, and other fascinating details about how everyday life varies from country to country. In many countries, students are expected to attend school on Saturday for at least part of the day.

It’s a great site to show school-aged kids.
