Inside Out

Inside Out is one of the coolest things, in my opinion, to come out of TED. French Photographer, JR, won the TED Prize in 2011 and then called out for the creation of a global participatory art project! This site is all about that project, Inside Out.

When you arrive at the site, you’ll land at the splash page where different Inside Out projects are highlighted, and you’ll find the navigation menu at the bottom of the page with the following categories: Inside Out, News, Explore, Participate, Best Of, Photobooths, The Movie, Videos, and About.

I’d highly recommend starting with either the About page  where you can learn about the project, it’s inspiration, and it’s implementation; or you can head right over the Best Of and check out these amazing art projects from around the globe.

Want to create your own Inside Out project? Then you need to head to the Participate section where you can learn how to setup your own group. The Photobooth section will tell you where you can go get your photo taken in the style of this project to take home to your own project. And you can visit the website dedicated to that Photobooth.

Check out these global exhibits of Inside Out today!

  1. Haven’t a clue what this site is all about, so I’m not going to click through. Normally the writeup is pretty good, but I don’t know what TED is nor what to expect to find other than ‘art project’.
