Sometimes I randomly get curious about how something is done. This week it was pickling! I found this site and its illustrated step-by-step process as well cost summary was very helpful, so I wanted to share it with you!

The site starts by introducing you to the different kinds of pickles that exist. The instructions provided are for Fresh-pack Pickles (or quick process). But if you look at the descriptions of the pickles you’ll find links to the page to make that type of pickle.

Next up the site walks you through the ingredients and equipment you’ll need to get started.  After that you dive right into the illustrated instructions for pickling!

I also bookmarked this site for when I want to make jam. If you look at the menu on the left side of the page you’ll find a section called How to Can, Freeze, Make Jam, etc.  It looks like it is full of useful tips but I didn’t have time to fully explore it.
