Keep it together in Word

Sometimes you want a document to look a certain way. You don’t want a particular paragraph to be broken into two pages if you make changes elsewhere in the document or you want that paragraph to always remain at the top of the page.

Let’s take a look at some options that will keep your important text intact in Microsoft Word. Start by opening your document and selecting the paragraph you want to make the changes for. Select by clicking and dragging the mouse the length of the paragraph or by clicking at the beginning, holding down the Shift key and clicking at the end.

Then right-click and select Paragraph from the menu that pops up.

Or click the Home tab and choose the little arrow next to Paragraph on the menu.

When the Paragraph dialog box opens, choose the Line and Page Breaks tab.

Tick the box next to Page break before to make sure a paragraph stays at the top of the page. Make sure to hit OK.
