Many of my tips come out of my everyday life. This one came from my husband being incredibly annoyed by all of the sounds coming from the Facebook app on his Smartphone. Various blips, blops, and dings were driving him crazy. Let’s take a look at how to turn down the noise.
Start by opening your Facebook App. Then tap the three-line menu icon at the top right of your screen.
Select Settings & Privacy and then Settings.
Now scroll down to Media and Contacts. You’ll have to scroll way down. It’s towards the bottom of a long list of options.
There are two options here that can make for a quieter Facebook feed. If you don’t want videos to start noisily playing when you stop on them, slide the Videos in News Feed Start With Sound slider to the Off position. To silence other sounds in the app, slide the Sounds in App slider to the Off position.
