Word – use Focus mode

Microsoft Word in Office 365 is a great program with a lot of useful features. But sometimes those features can be overwhelming. Just look at all the options available at the ribbon at the top of my document.

Focus Mode can take away these distractions and let you just concentrate on your document. Start by clicking the View tab.

Then select Focus.

All of the distractions will disappear.

Should you need the ribbon, hover your mouse near the top and click to bring up the ribbon. Or you can hit the Esc key to exit Focus.

On a Mac, you’ll see an Exit icon at the top left.

  1. When I click on View in Word, Focus does not show up. I have Immersive Reader, Page Movement, Show, Zoom, Windows, Macros, Property.
