Brazil’s Incredible Desert Lagoon

This gorgeous site takes you to Brazil’s Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. For eight months out of the year, this incredible landscape is the largest field on sand dunes in South America.

But when the rainy season arrives, it turns into thousands of beautiful blue lagoons. By mid-July, (the dead of winter in Brazil) they are deep enough to swim in.

Those lagoons gradually dry up and form a colorful patchwork of colors on the sand dunes. The images on this site are absolutely breathtaking.

Plus you’ll learn how natures turns the landscape from pure white, to baby blue, to red and brown, then back again. It’s a fascinating look at a natural wonder.
