Yesterday, I introduced you to the private DuckDuckGo search engine. (Click here to read that article.)
Today, we’ll check out a neat feature of the search engine called Bangs. Bangs are shortcuts that take you to search results on other websites. Let’s learn how they work.
Look for the three-line menu icon at the left side of DuckDuckGo.com.
Click on Bang Search Shortcuts.
When the Bangs page opens, scroll down to the search box.
I can type in a site like Wikipedia.
Then select your shortcut from the results.
You can also click on categories to browse. There are nearly 14,000 Bangs to choose from.
Once you click on a Bang, all of your search results will be on that page.
Here’s what happened when I searched for me on Amazon.
