Cartooned images like this have been popping up all over the Internet.
It’s all courtesy of a free app called Voila! The app allows you to turn a photo from your phone into a stylized illustrated image. It’s available for free in both the Android and Apple App Store. Search for Voila AI Artist and tap Install.
To use Voila, open the app. You have the choice of creating an image in 4 different styles, 3D Cartoon, Renaissance, 2D Cartoon, or Caricature.
Tap on the style you want to try. I’ll start with 3D. Tap 3D and then pick an image from your phone. I’ll start with photo of me.
You’ll have a choice of three styles: Royalty, Baby, and Cartoon.
Tap your style selection at the bottom to see it full screen.
You can screenshot the image or tap the share button at the top to save or share.

This is the result for caricture.
The free version of this app is ad-supported. You’ll see a few video commercials and the option to download other apps. Your downloads will also be marked with the app’s logo. If you want an ad-free version, you can subscribe for $4 a month or $21 a year. That sounds pricey, but there’s some pretty top-notch computing involved in creating these images. However, I doubt most folks need to use this app more than a few times.
