A reader has a question about saving photos to their phone.
“I have a Google Pixel phone and it automatically put the photos on my computer. Sooooo, if I delete the photos on my phone, what happens to the photos on my computer?”
That depends on whether or not your photos are actually saved to your PC. Photos from Android Phones are automatically synced to Google Photos, which means you can access them from your phone, PC, or any other device that logs into Google Photos.
But that doesn’t mean the photos are saved to your PC unless you take the extra step of downloading them a folder on your computer. To download a photo, open Google Photos (https://photos.google.com/) on your PC and select a photo or photos.

Then click the three-dot menu option at the top right.

Then choose Download from the drop-down menu.

The photo will go to your Downloads folder and you can transfer it wherever you like.
If you have your photos actually saved on your PC, nothing will happen to them if you delete them from your phone or Google Photos. However, if you don’t have them backed up to your PC and you delete from Google Photos, the picture will be gone.
