We’ve often suggested running it in Safe Mode, but what if the problem persists?
Reader Debbie H. sent in this suggestion that worked for her: if you have a cable or broadband “always on” internet connection, disconnect or unplug the modem before you begin defrag.
Another good idea is to shut off your screen saver.
