The Messenger Mission focuses on answering six questions about the planet Mercury.
Why Mercury? This section goes over the six questions that scientists hope to answer about the planet Mercury. This was very interesting reading and explained a great deal about how the Earth works as well. There are great images that help explain the answers. I really loved the chunk of meteorite.
The Mission explains how Messenger works and goes into the spacecraft design. If you check out the Gallery in this section, you can find images and animations of the spacecraft and its design. Watch the daily webcams!
The Education section teaches all about the planet Mercury. This also has information on finding it in the morning/night sky, with an area for students and a separate one for teachers. It has a great set of Fast Facts or you can explore everything.
The News Center has the latest news on the Messenger Mission and access quick links to the Image Gallery, Fact Sheet, and Status Reports.
The Mission Operations section lets you check out the Missions Operations Center, located at John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
Where is Messenger? Here you can check out the orbital path of Messenger and get an idea of where it is now. This section is really neat. You can even check out the view of Earth from Messenger.
Frequently Asked Questions section about four different subjects related to the Messenger Mission. The Science Operations section will be much bigger later. The Who We Are section talks about the different teams heading up the Messenger Mission.
