WildCAM Africa

You’ll need REAL Player to view this Webcam. You can get it here.

Welcome to WildCAM Africa. While I don’t believe there is live feed here any more, they did however catch great film of all the animals around Pete’s Pond that you can still view. You can watch the film on the main area or you can click Video Highlights to check out other videos.

You can learn more about specific animals by clicking the Elephant Research, Leopard Research and Species checklist. You can also learn how they set it all up by checking out the “How We Did It” section. You’ll find the links for all these great sections under the video feed on the main page.

The green area under the WildCAM Africa banner has great sections you can check out too. For example, Animal Gallery, Wallpaper and Postcards, Map and Why Pete’s Pond.

Animal Gallery – here you will find pictures of the animals, which is really cool! Click on the animal of your choice and another little window will pop up. Here you can watch videos of the animal, as well as, listen to audio of it! See the animal’s footprints and read a little about that as well. Click View Back to make the card flip over. Now you can learn more about a specific animal than you ever thought possible. Pretty neat, isn’t it?

Wallpaper and Postcards – this is where you can find several neat images that you can use for your own wallpaper, or even to send as postcards. You will find full instructions on the page just below the Baby Steps photo.

Map – this shows you a map of the area, as well as, some information about the Mashatu Game Reserve.

Why Pete’s Pond – learn all about why it is called Pete’s Pond and the efforts being made to make a system of transfrontier parks across parts of Africa to preserve the animals and their habitats.

It’s a lot to take in, but it’s very worth your while. Check it out!
