Copy Just Chart Formats
Ever have a chart in MS Excel with what you considered the perfect formatting?
You’ve chosen just the right color combinations, font type and size, font alignment, spacing, etc. and you wouldn’t change a thing, no matter how much time you have to work on it.
Wish that the formatting could be applied to other Excel charts without all the individual changes it requires? Something like a Format Painter feature for your charts maybe?
If that’s something you’ve ever wished for, then I’m happy to make at least one of your wishes come true and I think that you’ll be surprised by just how easy it can be accomplished.
- First thing you’ll need to do is select the chart with the formatting to be copied.
- Now copy the chart.
- Select the chart that needs the new formatting.
- Use the Edit menu, Paste Special choice and select the Formats choice.
- Click OK.
Voila! Formatting copied, but data left intact!
