One of the slogans on this site is “The Kitchen is the Heart of the Home.” I find that saying to be so true. Where else do you sneak off to for a midnight snack or to cook meals that your family loves? The kitchen is definitely the heart of my home. I love to cook and make food for others to enjoy!
There is music on every page. It comes with a volume control and you can always click the stop button. Just in case you are browsing this at work, I thought you’d want to know!
This site was made for the author’s granddaughters, but she has invited the rest of us into her recipe book, so to speak, by making this site. Here you will find delicious, easy to prepare recipes. You won’t find any gourmet food here. These are family recipes and in my opinion, deserve just as much respect.
You’ll find navigation on the side menu. The first link is Helpful Hints (we’ll come back to that section). The rest of the menu is divided by food types. Pick the food you want to make to get started. Perhaps by the kind of meat you want to use or the vegetable.
At the top of each page of recipes, you can see the listing of what recipes are on that page. For instance, I went to the Poultry section and the recipes there are: baked, ala king, parmegiana, stuffed chicken and cornish hens. So, you can decide almost at a glance if what you want to make is there. All the sections are set up this way.
Helpful Hints – I told you we’d come back to this, didn’t I?! Well, here we are and it’s full of tips! From easy clean up ideas to getting that outdoor barbeque taste from a grill pan in your kitchen!
Baking Hints – Here you can get hints just on baking. I love to bake, but even I have had the bad baking experiences. There aren’t as many tips here, but there are some great ones. I love the tip that tells you how to tell if your eggs are fresh!
I hope this site inspires you to get in the kitchen to make someone you love a home cooked meal!
