Cancel That

Cancel That

Ever find yourself accidentally activating a menu in an MS Office program?

I’d bet we’ve all found ourselves in this dilemma at one time or another, especially since it only takes an accidental bump of the Alt key to start the process.

Or, what about the times when you actually meant to activate the menu, but just changed your mind?

Actually, the real question is: What are your options for getting out of the menu efficiently?

Well, let’s see. You’ve got the old Esc key. (If you have a menu open, hitting the Esc key once may not get you back into your file, but try hitting it again to return to your work).

Here’s another suggestion. Try the Alt key again. Just like the Esc key, you should find that the Alt key will back you out of the menu activation.

And last, but not least, if you already have a hand on your mouse, you can simply click somewhere off the menu.

Whether you accidentally or intentionally activated the menu, choose a method and it will be canceled as quick as can be!
