So little of the history we are taught in school deals with the women who either ruled, brought about change or who were influential in our history. Well, here at the Women in World History Web site, you can learn all about these women and more!
Today’s Heroes – Here you will find information on the women who have won the Nobel Peace Prize. You will also find essays and biographies interspersed with those who won the Noble Peace Prize that are about other amazing women from the past.
Biographies – Here you will find the biographies of women who ruled countries or were heroes. Learn about women who filled these positions from Asia, the Time of the Crusades or just check out the lists of women who ruled.
Lessons – While this is a great starting point for any teacher to make a lesson out of for their students, these are also a fascinating read. I was so intrigued by the Female Fury in the Forum lesson that I had to check out the other lessons as well. And I found out they were truly thought provoking too.
Essays – Here you can find different essays on women who made an impact on history. From women of the time 1000 C.E. to present day, you’ll find an interesting array of information about these women.
Q&A – Here you will find a list of questions that have been sent in by readers and answered by the author of the site. There were some very interesting questions asked. I think this is a very neat idea for a site like this. It fosters more in depth learning of the topic.
I learned so much from this site that I’ve bookmarked it, so I can go back and finish reading about all the different women. I hope you do the same!
