Woophy

Woophy

Woophy stands for World of Photography and is brought to you by Dutch photographers and designers. Upon loading the Web site, you are presented with the Map section.

Notice the map is covered in tiny squares. Each square is a contributor to the site! If you mouse over a square, a thumbnail will pop up, giving you a preview of the photographer’s picture.

If you click the square, the photo will load on the right hand side of the page. If there is more than one photograph for that user, you are able to scroll down through the images they’ve submitted. Click an image on the right hand side of the page and it will open its own window, allowing you to see the image larger and see the comment it has generated. Along with that, it gives you the ability to leave a comment and scroll through the photographer’s gallery with the arrows near the top of the new window.

There are tons of photos from all over the world here, so you’ll have a lot to look at. You’ll notice a navigation system along the top of the map area as well. You can get to different sections by clicking the tabs, which are: Search, Contest, News, Forum and Sign Up.

Search – This allows you to search the photos by city, country, member, date and keywords. It is explained on the left hand side and the search field is on the right hand side.

Contest – Here you can learn all about the 2007 photo contest this site is having. The theme is “The News!” There are three categories: Raging Reporter, World News and Background.

News – Here you will find the latest news on the site, as well as, the most recent contest winners.

Forum – Here you can find all sorts of chat. From a section on Q&As for the site to photography tips to discussion on the best photography, you will have lots to chat about.

Sign Up – Registration is free. Just fill in the form and click the link that comes to the e-mail address you’ve provided. Signing up allows you to comment on photographs, as well as, add your own photos.

I hope you enjoy these photos from all over the globe. I know I did!
