Three More Vista Tips
You got a triple dose of Windows Vista tips yesterday and guess what, that’s exactly what you’re getting again today. Let’s check them out!
Tip #1 – Moving Folders Made Easy
Personal folders are handy, but they may not live where you want them to forever. Fortunately, you can relocate your own folders fairly easily. To move the Document folder, proceed as follows:
1.) Click your username in the top right corner of the Start menu to open your profile.
2.) Next, right click Documents and choose Properties.
3.) Then click Location, Move and select the new location. Or, you can even create a new one at this time.
4.) You’ll then be asked if you want to move your documents. Click Yes.
Now, you can do this same thing for any of your folders, but I warn you that you won’t want to try this with the Public folder. There’s a Location tab for that, but no Move button, so you wouldn’t get very far.

Tip #2 – Resizing Your Folder Icons
You may have noticed that by simply holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard, you can use your mouse’s scroll wheel to resize a folder’s icon. But, you may not have noticed that this works on the desktop itself as well. You can resize your icons from a standard 48 x 48 pixels to a full 256 x 256 photo, with quality renditions.
1.) To do so, go to the Computer icon on your desktop.
2.) Click the arrow to the right of the View menu, where you’ll find a slider with an endless selection of icon sizes. You can then size up all your icons to your heart’s content!

Tip #3 – Move Quick Launch to the Side
Sadly, Microsoft confirms that they have cut the ability to drag toolbars off the taskbar in Vista, because it was too confusing for users.

But, of course, there is a workaround for this as well and here is how you can do it:
1.) Right click on any blank area on your desktop.
2.) Select New Folder from the context menu.
3.) Drag the new folder to the very side of your screen and let go of your mouse. The toolbar should run vertically down the side of your desktop.
4.) Next, right click the new toolbar and select Toolbar, Quick Launch.
5.) Then right click the new toolbar again and deselect New Folder.
6.) Right click the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, select Toolbars and deselect Quick Launch.
You can then watch the same being performed right here as well.
I hope you have enjoyed these three very easy Windows Vista tips. Give them a try today!
