I have always been a fan of those black bordered motivational posters. Whether I see them on the Internet or on an office wall, I think they are so cool. And now, you can make your own motivational posters!
All you need is your wit, a photo and the time to put it all together here. Start by clicking the Upload button and choose a picture from your computer to use. Once you’ve uploaded the photo of your choice, you will need to choose how it is formatted on the poster.
If it has to be cropped to fit, you’ll need to decide what part of the photo to use. You can do that by choosing the center, top/left or bottom/right. For example, if you have a picture and the person you want to use on your poster is more to the right, choose bottom/right. I have a picture of my friend Anne that I’m going to turn into a motivational poster for her birthday! In the photo I have of her, she is more off to the right than in the center, so I chose bottom/right and it worked out perfectly!
Next, you have the option of making it a landscape or a portrait. Since the picture I’m using is just of my friend, I chose portrait, but choose whatever works best for you.
Next comes the border! There are three options: single, double and fancy. I liked the fancy one, so I chose that.
Onto color! If you click the square after the text, you will get a pop up window that is a color picker. Just mouse over the color you want and click it. Once you have the colors set for the title and border, move onto the motivational text and then the background. I left these as they were so that it will look more like an authentic motivational poster.
Now, you need to fill out your title. Notice the drop down box next to that. It allows you to change the font of the title. The same goes for filling out and changing the font of the motivational text.
All that is left is to click the big blue Create button. This will take you to the page where your poster will load. From that page, you can save your poster or go back and edit it some more. You can also e-mail it off or upload it to Flickr.
This was a lot of fun to do and my friend got a huge kick out of the poster I sent her. Now, I’m off to do one for my mom’s birthday. Who will you make one for?!
