Textris

This Web site is all about doing things with text! It’s divided into two sections: the menu and the text. To get started, simply type some text into the text box.

For example: My puppy is driving me crazy today!

Now, on the menu, you can choose from all sorts of settings to change the text around so that it suits your needs. Your choices are: Settings (default), Sorting/Alphabetizing, Formatting, Labeling, Case/Capitalization, For Coders and Miscellaneous.

My favorite feature has to be the Sorting/Alphabetizing! You can type in a random list of words and alphabetize it with just one click. That means if you have a list of names, you can type it in as is and sort it easily. I tend to alphabetize everything, so this option is quite handy. You can even attempt to sort by last names, which is great for rosters or invitations!

Here’s an example:

Hello! Hello!
My puppy is driving me crazy today!
A pickle would be tasty with my hamburger.
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.
Cool Site of the Day.
Computer Tips.
Zooin’ it!

Sorted:

A pickle would be tasty with my hamburger.
Computer Tips.
Cool Site of the Day.
Hello! Hello!
My puppy is driving me crazy today!
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.
Zooin’ it!

Another favorite of mine is the Labeling option. With it, you can add numbers, letters or even Roman numerals to your sorted lists. Cool, huh?!

For example:

1. A pickle would be tasty with my hamburger.
2. Computer Tips.
3. Cool Site of the Day.
4. Hello! Hello!
5. My puppy is driving me crazy today!
6. The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.
7. Zooin’ it!

For Coders is another great section. Here you can remove HTML coding from text, convert text and add select options with just one click. I love it!

There are probably many more uses for this site than what I have discovered so far and I can’t wait to keep exploring. I hope you do the same. Enjoy!
