I’m terrible at text messaging! I tend to write in complete sentences, without using numbers or abbreviations to express myself. That, without a doubt, is frustrating, especially when it comes to the 140 character length each text can have. I’ve also run into this problem when leaving comments on blogs and when using Twitter.
So, what’s a girl to do? Well, head on over to Ironic Sans Thsrs, of course!
This Web site is a thesaurus (that’s what the Thsrs stands for) that allows you to put in a long word and find a shorter synonym. Thus, saving you valuable characters and making you look even more intelligent!
How does it work? Well, simply type in a word, click on the Search button and get your results!
Here are some examples:
Thespian – actor, player.
Assistant – helper, worker, help.
Employer – leader.
Employment – work, job, business, employ.
To find out more about the Thsrs, check out the “Why a shorter thesaurus?” link under the search field. It will tell you all about the site and why it was made.
I think this one’s a keeper. I hope you do too. Enjoy!
