Quarkbase

Welcome to Quarkbase, a Web site that looks just like another search engine, but it’s so much cooler! It’s not just another search engine. No, it’s a database that will tell you everything about a Web site!

Type in http://www.worldstart.com and you’ll learn all about it.

If there’s a snapshot of a Web page, it will be there at the top of the page. You can scroll down to browse through the different sections of information or you can use the category tabs across the top of the page.

The categories are: Intro, Popular, Traffic, People, Spotlight, Company and Technical.

Intro – This gives you basic information, such as the Web page name and contact information.

Popular – This shows you the social popularity of the site. For example, if it has been Digg’d, bookmarked, linked to or commented on. It’s all broken down by the sites they were noticed on. For instance, Digg, del.ici.ous, Yahoo! Answers, Stumble Upon, etc.

Traffic – This section shows the traffic of the Web site. For example, how many viewers there are, what they’re looking at, where they’re from and so on.

Technical – This shows the type of server the site uses, the hosting service and the IP address.

Spotlight – This shows if anyone has blogged about the Web site.

People – This section shows employees of the company, which will only be listed if there’s a working company tab. You can check this feature out and the company tab by looking on Google.

Company – This shows the company profile, including stocks, job postings and funding.

This is a really interesting way to look at the nuts and bolts of the Web sites you love. Give Quarkbase a try today!
