Is there a way to protect only some information on a Microsoft Excell worksheet? I dont want to protect the sheet or book, because I still need info from them that needs to be typed in – just some formulas.
Once you have your excel worksheet created, select all the cells in the worksheet by left clicking the arrow next to Column A & on top of Row 1 and then right click and go to Format Cells. Go to the protection tab and left click the box next to “Locked” so there is no checkmark.
Next, highlight the cells you wish to protect and right click on them and click on format cells. Click on protection tab again and then left click on the box next to Locked so that there is a checkmark in the box.
Now, go to the Review Panel and click “protect sheet” and enter a password. Click OK and enter the password again. Click OK again.
You can edit all the cells, except the ones you protected.

I have been working on the above for sometime and figured out how to do it;
however, I have several Excel Financial formulas on a worksheet and it would take forever to highlight all of them. I found a hint on the Excel
in googling it and the writer said you use from the clipboard paste specail and all of your formulas will highlighted and be protected at using this sequence and I cannot figure out how to do this? I sure someone has figure out how to do this.
It seems like you did not answer the issue – you showed how to lock the cells but she only wanted to lock formulas and wanted to be able to change the data in those cells?

Wrong solution.It’s protecting entire sheet not of specific cells

select the entire sheet and click the right click on mouse and click on format cells and in protection unselecte the entire sheet then selct specific cells area and locked it then protect the sheet you can get defenet result
