I have Windows XP. How can I tell if I can run Windows 8 on my PC?
With the release of Windows 8 many people will be considering upgrading. The system requirements are pretty basic for Windows 8:

But how do you check if your programs and devices are Windows 8 compatible? Microsoft has been hard at work making an upgrade assistant program you can run on your computer to find out if it will support Windows 8.
You can download the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant by clicking here.
P.S. Windows 8 Pro is discounted until January 31st to $39.99 if you order it online here.

Remember though that the $39.99 is only as an upgrade so you have to have a valid OS on the computer to get that price. The valid OSes are Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. You could not for instance build a new computer and get Windows 8 for it for $39.99. There has been some speculation though that the Windows 8 Release Preview could serve as the valid prior OS, but I haven’t seen where anyone actually tested that.
Really liked what you had to say in your post, How Can You Tell If PC Supports Windows 8? | Worldstart's Tech Tips Newsletter, thanks for the good read!
