WS App Review: Scanner Radio

Listening to police and fire scanners can be interesting and sometimes a little scary. You could spend around $100 to buy a scanner and listen to calls in your area, or you could download Scanner Radio for free and listen to calls on over 3600 police and fire scanners in the United States and Australia on your phone or tablet.
If you hear sirens nearby, you can simply open the app and find out what all the fuss is about. Although, it’s a little nerve-wracking to hear police hunting a suspect in your neighborhood. Scanner Radio will find the scanners that are closest to you and sort them by distance. You can check out the top 50 most popular scanner frequencies and set up a list of your favorites. I’ve especially enjoyed listening to calls involving crocodiles in Australia. This app doesn’t only monitor police and fire frequencies, you can listen in on air traffic, weather and railroad audio.
