It seems like everything electronic has a touch screen now, but if you ask me there’s just no replacing a nice, physical button to get the job done. Take the iPhone/iPad, for example. When you use the camera app, you get a little shutter button at the bottom of the screen.
Press it, and *snap* – you’ve got yourself a picture. Easy, right?

But did you know the volume up button also releases the shutter? It’s much easier to reach, too!
…and if you have a pair of Apple headphones hooked up, you can use the volume up button on those to snap a picture as well!

Very cool!! I didn’t know this. Thanks.
Thanks for the tip. It’s much easier.
Great tip..more like these! Thanks.
Very interesting info. Love this site!
Outstanding, thanks!
I figured I’d try this with my DROID and found that Volume up zooms in and volume down zooms out. Still have to touch the Shutter Button on the Touch Screen to take the Picture. Well can’t win em all!
What a great suggestion! I take a lot of pictures and I love this hint. It makes it so much easier to take photos.
