Facebook Changes Feeds Again – Focus On Mobile & Photos

Facebook announced some big changes to the News Feed, promising to reduce clutter and focus more on stories from people you care about. Expect photographs to be more prominent and an increased focus on music.

In addition to the current News Feed structure, you’ll be able to break it down into separate feeds:

All Friends  – a feed that shows what your friends are sharing.

Photos – a feed that with nothing but photographs from your friends and pages that you’ve liked.

Music – a feed with posts about the music you and your friends listen to.

Following – a feed with news from pages you like and people you follow.

Your Facebook feed will now look the same on your PC, phone or mobile device.

You can expect the ads to look a little larger as well. Facebook is gradually rolling out that changes, but if users aren’t already seeing the changes, they should see them on their pages soon.  The company says updates to mobile apps will be available in the coming weeks.

The last two big changes to the service, Facebook Timeline and Graph Search have not proved to be very popular with users. The Timeline drawing complaints that it was confusing and Graph Search raising privacy concerns.
