Firefox Autofill Not Working

R A from Pekin IL writes:

I started using Foxfire and have a problem. Using Explorer my standard fill-in forms retained my data and all I had to do was click to pull it up. With Firefox only some forms will retained the data. Do I have a switch set wrong? If so how to I fix it. Firefox HELP has not given me an answer.

Answer: The first step is to make sure that you have the autocomplete feature turned on.  Ty Arthur wrote an excellent article last year about enabling that feature that you can read here. However, enabling that feature just lets Firefox remember the information that you’ve typed into that browser. It cannot read what you’ve previously typed in Internet Explorer.

If you want information like history and favorites from Internet Explorer, you’ll need to import them. If you still have your Internet Explorer available on your computer, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Start by clicking the Bookmarks toolbar.

Choose Show All Bookmarks

Now select the Import and Backup drop-down menu.

Click on Import data from another browser.

Select Internet Explorer and then click Next.

Choose the items you wish to import and choose Next again.

You should receive a notification that your information has been successfully imported. Hope that helps.
