Why Can’t I See My Outlook.com E-mail?

We’ve gotten several questions about Outlook.com e-mail not displaying properly in various browsers. One possible culprit behind this issue, could be temporary Internet files.  I had this happen to me recently. For me, it wasn’t with e-mails, but for a program I was using to convert video files. I spent a several frustrating hours until I cleared out the browser’s cache. Then, like magic, everything displayed properly again.

Here’s how to clear the cache in three popular browsers. For Internet Explorer press CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE simultaneously.  You’ll get the window below.  I’d suggest deleting Preserving Favorites Data and deleting Temporary Internet files, Cookies and website data and History.

For Google Chrome: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously. You’ll get the window below.  Check Empty the cache then select Clear Browsing Data.

For Firefox, also simultaneously press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL. You’ll see the window below.  Check the items you wish to clear and click Clear Now.

This could help display issues with e-mail and other programs.

  1. The above article regarding clearing the cache in different browsers is pure crap!! In both IE & Chrome I did the control/alt/delete thing & I got nothing like you say I would. I got a MS full screen window with the options of lock this computer/switch user/log off/change password/start task manager & a cancel button. My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. What’s really going on? How about some real, true info that is beneficial.

    1. Roland, make sure you hit CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE, not CTRL+ALT+DELETE. CTRL+ALT+DELETE will pull up the menu to log off or switch tasks.
