Body Maps

This is an amazing, interactive, visual search tool for the human body.

It’s free and easy to use. In fact, it’s so intuitively easy to use that all you have to do is read the three steps on the left side of the page and you’ll be good to go.  But if you want a better explanation, they’ve also provided a handy video tour that runs just under three minutes long and will show you just how in-depth a tool this is.

If there is somethings specific you know you want to explore you can either type that in the search field or you can click on that part of the body, and then delve deeper into the layers of that area to get to what you specifically wanted. And as if there weren’t already enough ways to explore you can also use the keywords under the heading Anatomy to explore.

You also have the option of selecting the gender of the body you explore by clicking the bullets labeled Female or Male. Once you’re exploring the model of the human body, you’ll notice that you can click on different layers of the body (system, muscles, organs, etc.) Once you’re where you want to be you can check out more information about that specific part of the body which oftentimes include videos.

This is an awesome tool. I really wish I had known about it when I was academic coaching because it would be a very handy tool for anyone taking Anatomy. Check it out for yourself and click the link to explore the human body in 3D.
