It’s apple season! I’ve been thrilled to be finding my favorite apple in the stores, which apple is that? Why the Honeycrisp! I adore it.Â
I had a honeycrisp apple with peanut butter for lunch the other day and it got me thinking – just how did my favorite apple come to be? Well I went off and searched the internet for the answer and found this really cool site all about honeycrisp apples. Of course I had to share it with you.Â
On the main page you’ll find two links you want to check out, they are:Â
All About Honeycrisp Apples – where you’ll learn all about its heritage, where they grow, and how to find them. I’m ridiculously lucky that I live near Michigan as it brings the cost down on the apples per pound decidedly. Which means I can buy more of them. Last fall I bought a ton and kept them in the crisper in my refrigerator and they lasted till early summer!
Honeycrisp Apple Growers – this section points you to high-quality growers of the honeycrisp apple. It doesn’t do well in all conditions, but thrives in places like Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Â Idaho, and Illinois.Â
Go learn about my favorite apple today!Â
