Sure! It’s a pretty simple fix. Somewhere along the line, your name must have been mis-typed when setting up the account. Let’s open Gmail in your browser and choose the little gear symbol to the far right of your inbox.
Then select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Choose the Accounts tab.
Go down to Send mail as.
To the far right, choose edit info.
A window will open that allow you to edit your information.

my name in Sent is coming up incorrectly for some emails. This seems to have started this morning. It is correct in Settings as well as in My Contacts.
My name is correct in my account but when it is displayed to the recipient, it is spelled “Kathey” – How do I fix that problem? I need this gmail account to match my Facebook and the website I’ll be setting up soon — I need it to be correct before my first book is published.
The same thing is going on with me! My name is correct in my Account Settings and in my profile. Whenever I send an email, my misspelled name shows up under ‘Sender’. Extremely frustrating… Cannot figure out how to fix it.
Kristina – I have the same problem! Gmail arbitrarily changed/shortened my last name and I am constantly asked by my recipients what the deal is. It’s brutal!! Have you found any solutions??
You are not alone. My name is misspelt in every email I sent and nothing I can do about it. Event though it appears correct in the account settings…
