Can I Watch My Phone On My TV?

It’s possible Barbara, but it will depend on what type of phone you have, what kind of TV and what other devices you may own.

If you happen to have both a Samsung Galaxy phone and a compatible Samsung TV, you can use the the AllShare app to stream video to your TV. Both the TV and the phone will need to be connected to the same WiFi network, though.

If you have an Apple TV, you can use AirPlay to stream content from your iPhone to the television.

If you have Google Chromecast  you can stream video directly from your phone to your compatible television.

An adapter like the Netgear wireless TV display adapter will let you mirror what you play on your phone or tablet directly onto your TV using your WiFi network.

An HDMI cable will allow for a wired hook up to your HDMI ready TV. You’ll need to find one that fits both your TV and your device or a suitable adapter.

There are a lot of options, depending on your phone and what apps are available for it. I’d suggest checking the manufacturer’s website for your phone and television, the app store for your device or stopping by the store for your phone provider to ask what options are available for your phone or TV.

  1. I have a Kindle HDX and was told by one of their techs that I couldn’t connect my tablet to my t.v., a 42″ Samsung HD plasma. However, when I have Netflix playing on my tablet, and turn it on on the t.v., it picks up exactly where it’s playing on my tablet. Any idea how that happens?

    1. Your Netflix movie doesn’t play on your tablet or on your TV. It plays on Netflix servers and is streamed to your device. When you log in with your Netflix account, it remembers where the video stopped playing across any device you’re watching it on.
