Microsoft Doubles Free OneDrive Space

Microsoft wants you on their cloud. So much so that they’ve added a massive increase to the amount of free space available for OneDrive users and upped the amount of storage for Office 365 subscribers to 1 TB.

OneDrive now offers 15 GB free when you sign up for an account, more than doubling the 7 GB that was available previously.

The Office 365 subscription  is expanding to 1 TB sometime “soon” according to Microsoft.  If you have an Outlook.com, Hotmail, MSN or Livemail address, you already have a OneDrive account. Just go to Outlook.com and log on with you e-mail username and password.

Microsoft has also dropped the price for paid storage by more than 70%. The new monthly prices will be $1.99 for an additional 100 GB and $3.99 for 200 GB.

  1. so basically onedrive just changed the free and paid to match google’s, though for the $9.99 for 1 TB you get office 365 along with it. (though google docs is always free)
