Mom Invents App That Stops Kids From Ignoring Calls
One Mom was so fed up with kids ignoring her calls, she invented an app that allowed her to lock her teenagers’ phones if they ignored her calls. The app, called Ignore No More allows you to have a special code that will shut down your child’s phone. The phone cannot make or receive calls or texts with the exception of calling the parent or 9-1-1.
Once the child has called home, the parent can choose to unlock the phone. The app costs $1.99 in the Google Play Store.
Delaware Allows Relatives To Inherit Social Media Accounts
The State of Delaware now allows heirs to take over social media, email accounts and devices with a loved one passes away. The law is called the Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act.
Many social media accounts already have plans in place for closing or continuing accounts in the event of death, such as the Facebook policy outlined in this article.
A group of legal experts is also currently working to standardize the laws across the country as to what happens to your digital assets after you die.
Ballmer Says Goodbye To Microsoft
Steve Ballmer has given up his seat on the Microsoft board of directors. He retried from his position of CEO earlier this year after catching a lot of flack for what many perceived as the bungled launch of Windows 8.
Ballmer spent 34 years at the tech giant and in his resignation letter called it his life’s work and said the company will need to work towards increasing paying business subscriptions, ad revenue and hardware profits to stay competitive in a mobile-first world.
Ballmer won’t be hurting for things to do. He recently paid $2 billion to buy the L.A. clippers basketball team.
