These could endanger both your wallet and child.
Update Apps
As hackers discover new ways to invade a person’s privacy, app developers are forced to update their apps to keep them more secure. When app updates are available, update as soon as possible. It does pay to wait at least a week and read the most recent reviews to ensure the latest update is stable.
Keep It With You
Smartphones are easy to remember since you usually hook the case to a belt clip or slip it a purse. Tablets are larger, but easy to forget. You might leave it lying on a table at a restaurant when you head to the bathroom or pay for your meal. Thieves are always waiting for you to walk away and leave your tablet behind. In just a few minutes, your tablet could be gone. To avoid this, never let your tablet out of your site. If you’re not using it, store it in a case that you won’t forget to take with you.
Require Passwords For Purchases
Parents often let their kids play with their tablets to keep them occupied on road trips or while waiting at the doctor’s office. While storing your payment details and skipping the password to make app purchases makes your life easier, it also makes it easy for kids to buy new apps or make in-app purchases. Always set a password for new purchases to keep kids from shopping without your permission.
Keeping a tablet secure isn’t difficult. Always use strong passwords and reliable anti-virus software. Think of it as a thinner laptop. Be careful with what you download, install and visit online. Keep these tips in mind and your tablet will be as secure as it possibly can be.
