Will Deleting My Hotmail Account Affect My Spouse?

Cynthia answered my question about getting rid of my Hotmail account. My question is will this have any effect whatsoever on my wife’s Hotmail account?

Last week I explained the process for deleting a Microsoft Account such as Hotmail, Outlook.com, MSN.com or LiveMail address. Deleting that account also deletes your Microsoft Account for other services, so be very cautious.

Even though you and your wife may share a household, a computer and the rest of your life together, as long as you have separate e-mail addresses, deleting one account would have absolutely no effect on the other. It’s not like shutting off the electric or cable, where the utilities are shut off to the whole household. That holds true even if both accounts are downloaded to the same e-mail client such as Outlook or Thunderbird.
