Smart Homes Sell Faster
Real Estate Company Coldwell Banker says that more and more buyers are looking for “smart” features when it comes to buying a home. A survey of sales associates also shows that buyers are asking for features they can control through apps on their smartphones and that buyers 35-49 are the most interested in smart technology.

The features buyers want include security systems, temperature control, lighting and entertainment features. Smart appliances are low on list with only 23% of buyers interested that technology.
Facebook Bans Feeling Fat
You’re no longer allowed to feel fat – at least on Facebook. The company is dropping that particular emoticon after 16,7000 people took the time to sign a petition through Change.org asking that the icon be removed.

In a statement, the company said, “We’ve heard from our community that listing ‘feeling fat’ as an option for status updates could reinforce negative body image, particularly for people struggling with eating disorders.”
There are still a wide range of other emotional emoticons available.
Sony Closing Down PlayStation Mobile
Sony announced that it will close down PlayStation Mobile after July 15. The games will still work on your phone, for now. But there will be no more in-app purchases and you will not be able to re-download any games after September 10. PlayStation Mobile provided games for the PlayStation Vita and offered Android games.
The PlayStation Mobile app for Android will no longer be available for download after that date.
To use previously downloaded content, users will need to authenticate their device. Instructions for that process can be found by clicking here.

Stupid!!! People use it when they ate to much and feel bloated or fat.
Stupid. It’s not as though you are calling somebody else fat….it’s how you feel at that moment!
Stupid! If you feel bloated, ate too much, etc. you can use it! Because some people dislike it, everyone has to dislike it???? ridiculous!
What normally we look threre, is the expression, that tells it all.
There is nothing wrong with feel fat emoticons, if that is the opinion of some, then no emoticon is safe, all of them have negative impact to some.
Emoticons contribute to the process of dumbing down. Someone with a command of written language can express themselves with words alone.
Pure political correctness. What next? Get rid of 🙁 as it might cause those with depression anxiety?
That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard!!!
Everything has the potential to offend someone which is quite natural in view of our different personalities. It is incumbent on people to accept that they might find something offends their feelings and accept that is just the way life is. This is a stupid action from facebook – removing an entertaining graphic as fatties might feel offended is over the top.
Have to agree with Nancy, Jill and Bob. Both the stupidity and PC is way over the top on this. I thought facebook was supposed to be for people over 13 years of age….this sounds like something from grade school.
That’s the problem with the US. We are so worried about offending someone or hurting their feelings that we have become a nation of crybabies. Sometimes you just have to say that life is tough and we all don’t get a trophy at the end of the day.
Hey Cynthia,
Wasn’t sure about ‘In The News’ /slash Editorial feature at first, but it works real well, newsy, accurate, and evokes great ‘Responses’ from the readership.
Congradulations,

I wonder what percentage of the actual FB population that 17000 number represents? As usual, a small percentage rules. I guess we re-define democracy. If they don’t like the fat emoticon, then they don’t have to use it. Hmm maybe they ought to think about a membership to a gym???
Its a bunch of BS. If someone admits something it certainly doesn’t lower self esteem. It not like someone is saying your are fat. Of course, I’m not smart enough to use emoticons. So what do I know?
How about the Sad emoticon. Wouldn’t that offend someone who is depressed? I am sure one could describe how many other emoticans offend someone. For me, I think they should outlaw all emoticons. They are for lazy people who don’t want to take the time to say how they feel. For that matter, I think they should outlaw Facebook. I find it offensive. Maybe people will start talking to each other again.
This is the stupidest things that I have ever heard of. FB Needs to get a grip on reality here. I think I’m going to go to a different media site…FB keeps doing stupid BS..
This is what is wrong with the world. Everyone whines and thinks we should care about their hurt feelings. If you are fat, don’t be touchy and take it out on the rest of us. Shut your mouth to stop both whining/eating and leave the rest of us alone.
So FB changes policy based on the whim of less than 1/1000th percent of their membership. That’s outrageously STUPID !!
It is so sad that we as a free people are letting those who have failed in some way, control what we say and do. It seems that those who have failed, figure if there is no reference to that failure, no one will notice or judge them for it. It’s time the majority ruled, but they won’t, because they are too lazy to generate a petition to rebuke the complaint. They are however not too busy to reply, (whatever good that does).
Silly, stupid, pitiful!!! It just shows me that there are still so many stupids out there who don’t understand anything at all. FB is ridiculous to begin with and they need to get their act together and not let the stupids rule.
I can’t believe people can be so simple and silly. Of course it’s silly to omit this emoticon. Anyone who takes issue needs to get some help and get a life.
FB get off the PC train. It is getting worse every time some one is offended about something. America has raised a bunch of whiny babies from the “gimme generation”. I’m glad my kids aren’t whiners.
Where is all this sillyness going to end? What about my freedom of expression? Its a thing to state how you are feeling about yourself NOT anyone else. I have a right to how I feel dont I? Rolls eyes…oh that might be a bad thing for someone with lazy eye…sorry.
I rarely use these, but I see no sane reason to remove one or an other of any of them. If someone chooses to express their feelings with an emoticon, so what? It has no effect on me unless I want it to.
I agree; this reinforces a negative body image.
Idiotic. Why not also remove the “sad” and “happy” so we don’t intimidate the bipolar folks? And “sleepy” so we don’t offend the narcoleptic? Duh.
Stupid, another political correct?people should stop faking and face reality. If you don’t like it,go to the next page and stop pretending that hurt,go on a diet or be happy with Yourself
We do not have the “right” to not being offended. We do have the right to freedom of speech. FB has the right to decide what they will or will not allow. We have the right of association and the choice is then ours. I would agree that you can leave, tell others that you believe that they are wrong, or argue with FB to let them know who you think/feel about their choices. It is up to them to make their own choices and up to us to choose where we will stand. We should always do this will respect for others.
