Charter Communications is making another bid for Time Warner Cable. They’ve tried before, but that offer was turned down. Recently, Comcast made a bid for Time Warner, but the FCC put the kibosh on that deal. This time, the offer is for $79 billion.

Along with Time Warner, Charter would also like to pick up the Bright House Networks cable company. If the bid is successful, Charter would become the second-biggest cable company in the U.S., right behind Comcast.
As streaming services put the squeeze on cable operators expect more mergers as companies look for ways to stay profitable in an increasingly competitive market.
The company says the merger will drive investment into their broadband network and allow them to deploy Wi-Fi networks in public places resulting in “ faster broadband speeds, better video products, including more high definition channels, more affordable phone service and more competition, for consumers and businesses. The scale of the new entity will also result in greater product innovation, bringing new and advanced services to consumers and businesses.
The deal will have to first be approved by the FCC.

COM CAST IS ARRAGANT AND UNDEPEDNABLE. THEY DO NOT KEEP THEIR AGREEMENTS AS ORIGINALLY PROMISED. SAY NOOOOOOO TO COMCAST!!
TWC needs to be put out of business and I hope Charter does it. I have TWC and it sucks big time. Their clicker – you need to pound on the keys to get the clicker to work. Search – Compared to Direct TV, TWC is in the dark ages. Computer – Leave your computer for five minutes and you will get logged off of the internet. They are really bad and I wouldn’t mind at all if they go out of business. I would gladly pay more to get a cable system that is at least as good as Direct TV.
Personally, I would like the FCC to be on the consumer’s side for some real clarity and satisfaction for all parties involved. We should have a choice of who our supplier is, and the channels we pay for monthly. Here in Texas, we can choose which utility companies – gas, electric, that operate in our area we want to use, and many offer a discount for choosing them. Not only that, but we should be able to determine the number of channels we are willing to pay for. There could be bundles of 10, 15, 20 or more channels. Sadly, cable has offered us the world, and I’m not sure that’s a good idea. And, who has the need or time to watch 200+/- channels anyway? Until I see some sanity and common sense used in this industry, I will stay with my little outdoor, unobtrusive Leaf antenna.
In addition, I will continue to pray for our leaders at every level and our country as a whole, and those who regulate this industry, because much is at stake in this battle between big greedy corporations and us, the consumers who pays for it all. I hope that this idea is broadcast far and wide by others as well as myself.
