How Can I Find My Familiar Browser In Windows 10?

Gladys has a question about her Windows 10 browser. She writes: “What can I do to make my Internet Explorer on Windows 10 as near to the old way as possible? I am trying to learn Windows 10 but I don’t like it, so if I could find something familiar I would be happy. So please tell me something.”

Gladys, Internet Explorer 11 is exactly the same in Windows 10 as it was in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.  I wonder if you aren’t actually clicking on the icon for Microsoft Edge, the default browser for Windows 10. The icon for Edge looks like this:

Edge has a much cleaner look that Internet Explorer. I like it, but it is very different.  But don’t worry, Internet Explorer is easy to get to. Just type Internet Explorer in the search box on your Start Menu. Then click on the result. Or tell Cortanta “Open Internet Explorer.”

If you’ve upgraded to Windows 10, all of your favorites should have transferred to Windows 10 without an issue.

For quick and easy access, right-click on Internet Explorer on your Start Menu and choose Pin to Taskbar.

Hope this helps you feel a little more familiar, but consider giving Edge a try once you get a little more comfortable.
