Slack is my new favorite tool and I can’t wait to share it with you!

I was introduced to slack as a new way to handle class interactions with my professor this semester. Since then I’ve adopted for all my group projects, student organizations, and even personal use.

The free version of Slack offers the ability to search and browse your most recent 10k messages; integration with 10 services; free apps for iOS, Android, Mac, & Windows Desktop; multi-team support; and 1:1 calls.

They offer a very helpful Getting Started Guide that will help you quickly make the most out of Slack. Overall, I’ve found the application very intuitive. You get started by creating or joining a team. Enter your e-mail address in the field and click the green Create Team button. Then you’ll name your team and send out invites.

They also have a robust selection of emoji and have just introduced Jumbomoji. You can learn more about the emojis here.

Once your  team is established you can start chatting away. I can’t believe how responsive the application is. I had been using a Facebook group chat and this is so much faster. I love that I can still upload files, share gifs, and even have private chats with team members.

Go check it out for yourself today!
